Cousins Jesús Ángel Toledo Ajenjo and Julián Ajenjo Nieto began making wine in a garage in 2015. They started with a few bottles and the business grew organically.
Jesús is from the fifth generation of family winemakers and is Technical Director of #garagewine. He holds an Advanced Diploma in winemaking and is a member of the School of Oenology in Castilla La Mancha. His final degree project on the microvinification of native and lesser-known grape varieties has become his personal driving force behind #garagewine. He is currently also participating in other research projects at regional level, including studying grape varieties that are better adapted to climate change in La Mancha.

Julián has a degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Castilla La Mancha. Since 2015, he has been the CFO and chief administrator of the #garagewine project, but also plays a hands-on role both in the vineyard and in the winemaking process.
#garagewine is all about small quantities of terroir-expressive, single vineyard wines, made from non-irrigated bush vines over 50 years old, treated with organic products. They focus on indigenous, lesser known grape varieties, like Albilla, Tinto Fragoso, Malvar, Moscatel Serrano, Brujidera (Moravia Dulce) or “Pinot from La Mancha” as they like to call it, Tinto Velasco, Airén, Verdoncho and others.
